We're introducing the SIRUI Swift Series: two compact full-frame autofocus lenses made for the camera you take everywhere. The Swift 20mm F2.4 covers wide scenes, travel and vlogs, while the Swift 40mm F2.2 gives you a natural perspective for portraits, street moments and details. Both lenses use STM autofocus, weigh around 210g, and launch in Sony E and L mounts at $149 each.
Meet the Swift Series: Compact Full-Frame Lenses for Daily Carry
Swift is our entry-level full frame lens line, built around three priorities: light weight, autofocus and image quality. Each lens is about 62mm long and weighs 207–215g depending on the mount, so it can stay on your camera through a full day of walking, commuting or travel.
Inside, both lenses use all-glass optics instead of plastic elements. Glass elements are less affected by temperature changes and do not yellow over time, so the image quality you get on day one stays consistent. At $149 per lens, Swift is a cost-effective way to add a fast autofocus prime to a full-frame or APS-C mirrorless kit, whether you shoot photos, video or both.
Swift 20mm F2.4: An Ultra-Wide View for Landscapes, Street and Vlogs
The Swift 20mm F2.4 is a 20mm wide angle lens with a 91.5° diagonal field of view. It fits wide landscapes, architecture, interiors and street scenes where you want to show the surroundings as well as the subject.
Its 0.2m minimum focus distance lets you move close to a foreground subject while keeping the background in the frame. A flower, a cup of coffee or a friend's face can sit in front of a wide scene, which adds depth to travel photos and group shots. Maximum magnification is 0.136x.

For vlogging, 20mm keeps both your face and the scene behind you in frame when you hold the camera at arm's length. As a full frame wide angle lens with an F2.4 maximum aperture, it also gathers enough light for evening street scenes and indoor footage.
Swift 40mm F2.2: A Natural Perspective for Portraits and Everyday Scenes
The Swift 40mm F2.2 frames the world close to the way you see it. Its 55.86° diagonal field of view sits between 35mm and 50mm, a range often described as a natural "normal" perspective. Our guide to focal lengths that match the human eye explains why this range feels familiar.
In the 35mm vs 40mm question, 40mm gives slightly tighter framing and a bit more subject separation, while still keeping enough context for street and travel photos. The F2.2 aperture separates your subject from busy backgrounds, and nine aperture blades help keep out-of-focus highlights rounded. With a 0.4m minimum focus distance and 0.14x maximum magnification, the 40mm also handles food, products and small details.
STM Autofocus and Video-Friendly Optics
Both Swift lenses use an STM motor for quick, smooth autofocus, so you can keep moving subjects in focus and capture short moments on the street or on the road. An AF/MF switch on the barrel changes the focus mode without a trip into the camera menu, and the 360° focus ring gives you fine control in manual focus.
For video, we designed Swift with low distortion, natural color rendering and minimal focus breathing, so the framing stays consistent when focus moves between subjects. That makes the lenses a good fit for vlogs, short films and time-lapse work. If you're new to autofocus systems, our crash course on autofocus lens types explains how different focus motors behave.

Precision Optics and Hands-On Controls
The Swift 20mm uses 11 elements in 9 groups, including aspherical, ED and HRI elements. The Swift 40mm uses 11 elements in 8 groups with aspherical and ED elements. Each element type has a clear job:
- Aspherical elements reduce weight while correcting spherical aberration and distortion.
- ED glass suppresses dispersion and chromatic aberration for accurate, true-to-life color.
- HRI elements (20mm) improve light transmission and reduce stray light for stronger contrast.
On the outside, a clicked aperture ring lets you set the aperture from F2.4 (20mm) or F2.2 (40mm) down to F16 with clear, tactile steps. The customizable FN button works as an AFL focus lock by default, or you can assign another function in camera. Both lenses take standard 58mm filters, come with a lens hood to block stray light, and are dust-resistant, smudge-resistant and weather-sealed.
Sony E and L-Mount Compatibility
Swift launches as e mount full frame lenses for Sony cameras and l mount full frame lenses for Panasonic Lumix, Sigma and Leica cameras, with more mount options planned.
On Sony, compatible bodies include full-frame models such as the A7 IV, A7C II, A7R V, FX3 and A1, as well as APS-C models such as the A6700, ZV-E10 II and FX30. On L-mount, the list includes the Lumix S5 II, S9 and S1R II, the Sigma fp and BF, and the Leica SL3. You can find the full compatibility list on the SIRUI Swift product page.
Before You Buy
- Sony a6000 and a7 II: Photo is fully compatible; video is partially compatible.
- Sony a9 II: Compatibility is still being optimized.
- APS-C bodies: With a 1.5x crop, the 20mm frames like roughly 30mm and the 40mm like roughly 60mm.
20mm or 40mm: Which Swift Lens Fits Your Shooting?
| Swift 20mm F2.4 | Swift 40mm F2.2 | |
|---|---|---|
| Field of view (diagonal) | 91.5° | 55.86° |
| Minimum focus distance | 0.2m (0.65ft) | 0.4m (1.31ft) |
| Max magnification | 0.136x | 0.14x |
| Best for | Landscapes, architecture, vlogs, group shots | Portraits, street, details, everyday scenes |
Choose the 20mm if you want to show the whole scene or film yourself at arm's length. Choose the 40mm if you prefer a natural view and more subject separation. Together, the two lenses weigh about 420g and cover both wide and standard views, which makes the pair a light travel lens kit.

FAQ
Are SIRUI Swift lenses full-frame, and do they work on APS-C cameras?
Yes. Both Swift lenses cover full-frame sensors and also work on APS-C bodies. With a 1.5x crop, the 20mm gives a field of view similar to about 30mm and the 40mm similar to about 60mm.
Is the Swift 20mm good for vlogging?
Yes. The 20mm keeps your face and the background in frame at arm's length, the STM motor provides smooth autofocus, and minimal focus breathing keeps the framing steady when focus shifts.
Which cameras are compatible with the Swift lenses?
Swift is available in Sony E and L mounts, with more mount options planned. It works with most Sony Alpha, ZV and FX bodies, as well as L-mount cameras from Panasonic Lumix, Sigma and Leica. The a6000 and a7 II have partial video compatibility, and the a9 II is still being optimized.
What filter size do the Swift lenses use?
Both the 20mm and the 40mm use a 58mm filter thread, so you can share the same filters between the two lenses.
Are the Swift lenses suitable for video?
Yes. Swift is designed with low distortion, natural color rendering and minimal focus breathing, and the STM motor focuses quickly and smoothly. That makes it suitable for vlogs, short films and time-lapse photography.
